Jan. 6th-13th: PA FARM SHOW "SHEEP TO SHAWL" competition - Wednesday, Jan. 10th, 3:00 pm (Youth "Fleece to Shawl" competition - 10:00 am) Jan. 20th: 2017 Kick-Off Meeting at the Shippensburg Library Community Room. We will be planning our meetings for 2018, so come with your suggestions. Dues of $12 due before January 31st. Feb. 17th: Meeting at the Shippensburg Library Annex - 10:00 AM. "Using embroidery hoops to do simple framing" Feb. 24th: Keystone Lace Guild's "A FibreWorks Gathering" South Cumberland Fiber Guild members will be demonstrating and displaying items that showcase the many fiber crafts our Guild members enjoy. "Portuguese Knitting" Also, bring the fiber treasures you found at the MD Sheep and Wool Festival for a time of "show and tell". May 19th & 20th: Central PA Fiber Festival - Hughesville, PA

9:00 AM-3:00 PM June 2nd & 3rd: Frederick Fiber Fest, Federick MD June 9th: World Wide Knit in Public Day. The concept behind this is to let the world know that - knitting is still alive and popular! June 16th: Dye Day at the Hopewell Township Park. Details to follow. July 14th: Newburg Rural Life Festival - 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. (second Saturday of the month) Set-up BEFORE 9:00 AM. RAIN or SHINE! Guild members will demonstrate various fiber arts. Festival will provide Guild members with meal tickets. Remember to bring your own chair. Aug. 18th: Annual Picnic and Swap Day Bring any fiber, yarn, equipment, books, etc., that you wish to give away or sell. Picnic details to follow. Details to follow. Sept. 8th-9th: Endless Mountain Fiber Festival - New Milford, PA Sept. 15th: Meeting to be held at the home of Candy Knerr - 10:00 AM We will be learning how to prepare and spin nettles. For more information on this process, see the link below for a video by Allen Brown. If you prefer to not work with the nettles, just bring a current project and catch up with your guild friends. Please bring a bag lunch.
