Upcoming events for 2010:

Jan. 9-15PA Farm Show.  South Cumberland Fiber
Guild will be featured all day Wednesday, Jan. 13th,  at
the Keystone Lace Guild's booth.  We will be demonstrating
and selling our handmade items.
Jan. 16:  Meeting at the Library Annex - 10:00 a.m.  Bring
your current knitting project, wheel, etc. and enjoy the time
with fellow guild members.  We will decide what the
challenge for  2010 will be.
Feb. 20:  Meeting at the Library Annex - 10:00 a.m.  We will
be issuing a challenge to each other, with finished items to be
unveiled at the December 11th Christmas Luncheon.  
.Feb. 27:  Keystone Lace Guild's "Gathering of Guilds"

South Cumberland Fiber Guild members will be
demonstrating  and teaching a mini-workshop or two.
March 20:  Meeting at the Library Annex - 10:00 a.m. 
Learn how to spin on a takli spindle!  Caroline Winslow will
demonstrate how a takli spindle works.  (A takli spindle
is a small, light-weight, supported spindle.)
April 17:  Guild members will take a road trip to the
National Museum of the American Coverlet in
Bedford, PA.  Museum fee - $10.  We plan to meet at a central
location and car pool to Bedford.
May 1 & 2: MD Sheep & Wool Festival

May 15:  Meeting at the Library Annex - 10:00 a.m.  Those
who went to the MD Sheep & Wool Festival should bring the
"goodies" they found for "show and tell."
June 19Meeting at the SHAPE Solstice Festival -
10:00 a.m.  Bring your wheel, etc. and enjoy the day-long
festival  with other guild members at the Shippensburg
Township Park.   We will have several canopies for shade. 
Bring your lunch or eat at the Festival.   
July 10Newburg Rural Life Festival - 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Guild will demonstrate. (Set up between 9 and 9:30 am.)
Bring your  wheel, spindle, loom or other current project
to show and demonstrate to the public.  Festival will provide
Guild members with meal tickets.  Remember to bring your
own chair.
August:  Mid Atlantic Fiber Association
(MAFA) Workshop Weekend  at Gettysburg College

Aug. 21Annual Guild Picnic and Fiber Swap at the home
of Linda Singley.
Aug: 28: Shippensburg Corn FestivalGuild will
demonstrate spinning, weaving, knitting and other fiber
arts, beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Come, enjoy the Festival and
give an hour or so to the Guild to share any fiber-related
activity with those attending the Festival.
Sept.18:  Meeting at the Library Annex- 10:00 a.m.
Sept. 24-25: Knitters' Day Out

Oct. 16 & 17:  New York Sheep & Wool Festival

Nov. 20:  Meeting at the Shippensburg Library Annex -
10:00 a.m.  Linda Singley will teach a mini-workshop on
making hairpin lace.  A number of hairpin lace looms will
be available to try.  If you have a hairpin lace loom, bring it
along!
Dec. 11: Annual Christmas Luncheon.  Our meeting will
also include revealing the results of our Guild Challenge. 
Come prepared with ideas for next year's guild meetings.
